Learning Theme 5777: Kehillah Kedoshah - Sacred Community

Each year a congregational learning theme unites our congregation. The theme serves to focus the learning of the congregation around an important and timely concept. The theme is evident in:

  • The adult education courses offered during the year
  • Speakers (including scholars-in-residence) who are brought in to lead presentations and workshops
  • The content of High Holy Day sermons
  • Reflections during worship services
  • An historic Jewish teacher is chosen as our scholar for the year and teachings are infused into worship experiences, learning opportunities for adults and classes for youth
  • Board meeting and committee meeting divrei torah
  • An issue of the bulletin focuses directly on the theme
  • Partnerships with organizations in the community to best explore the theme
